Privacy Policy

Reading iPhonePost does not require an Apple account or a reader registration. We are an independent publication, operated by Evren Elveren, covering iPhone and Apple news. This notice explains what the publication receives from a visit or an enquiry. It does not describe data held by Apple, an app developer or a store mentioned in a story.
When you send a tip or correction
Our contact form collects your first and last name, email address, message and submission time. Authorised administrators can read these in a private editorial inbox to answer the enquiry, check a correction and deal with follow-up. A new-message notification alerts the administrator without including your message body. Direct email correspondence is also handled by the email services involved.
The form stores a keyed hash derived from the connecting IP address to limit repeated submissions. This is separate from any plain IP address recorded by the hosting or security infrastructure. Sending a message does not sign you up for a newsletter. We do not sell contact messages or the email addresses supplied with them.
Please do not send your Apple Account password, device passcode, verification codes or payment details. For an iPhone problem, a model name and software version are usually more useful than an account screenshot. Remove serial numbers, email addresses and other private details from supporting material unless they are necessary to the enquiry. iPhonePost cannot access your Apple account or an order on your behalf.
Data needed to open a page
A browser request carries technical information. Our hosting and security services can process the IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser details and errors or security events. We use these services to deliver pages, diagnose problems and limit abuse. Cloudflare protects the public site and may run a security check before a request reaches it. Its privacy policy explains its handling of information.
Article popularity is measured separately. Our counter stores totals against articles rather than records against a named reader or visitor ID. The counter table does not store IP addresses. These are approximate reads, not a count of unique people; ordinary infrastructure logs still exist independently.
What stays on your device
Choosing a light or dark theme saves the preference in your browser's local storage. The site also keeps article IDs and reading times there to reduce repeated counting within 30 minutes. The counter request sends only the article ID, not that local reading list. Old entries are discarded on a later article read. Your theme choice remains until changed or cleared.
The contact form uses a session cookie to protect submissions. It contains a session reference, not your enquiry or password. Browser session-restoration settings can extend its availability. Cloudflare may set its own security cookies, including one that remembers completed verification. See its cookie reference for the relevant purposes and lifetimes.
You can remove cookies and local storage in your browser's site-data settings. Clearing them resets preferences; blocking them can interrupt the form or require another security check.
Following a source link
Links to Apple documentation, app listings, shops and other publications lead to services with their own data practices. An externally hosted image also sends a request to its provider when loaded. Our article renderer uses links to external video services instead of automatically loading their players. We cannot control what another service collects after you visit it.
Who can handle a message, and for how long?
The hosting, email, security and backup providers needed to run iPhonePost may process information for those services. Our shared editorial administration restricts access to authorised staff; it does not make an enquiry public. Providers may process data outside your country. Disclosure or retention may also be necessary to comply with law, investigate abuse or address a legal claim.
The contact inbox currently has no automatic expiry rule. Messages can remain for enquiries, follow-up and disputes until removed. Infrastructure logs follow their providers' retention settings. Restricted backup copies may remain after removal from the active inbox until replaced or expired.
Requesting a copy, correction or removal
Contact [email protected] with “iPhonePost privacy” and enough detail to locate your correspondence. We may need to verify that a request concerns your information; please do not send identification documents unprompted. We respond within applicable legal time limits and explain any lawful reason for retaining a record.
Where a legal basis is required, operating a secure publication and answering correspondence involve legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. Legal obligations may apply, and optional processing requiring consent must wait for that consent. Depending on the law that applies, rights can include access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and a complaint to a data-protection authority.
Our form is not intended to collect children's details. A parent or guardian can ask us to review information a child submitted. We restrict administrative access and use HTTPS on the public site, but cannot guarantee absolute security. Tell us promptly about a suspected disclosure. Changes to our practices will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
